Good day Caring Heart-family!

We hope that you are all well and especially in good health. We are in the midst of a season of untold heartache and sorrow, having to deal with Covid-19 and political unrest. But, as always, we look to our Heavenly Father for comfort, as He promised in His Word that He would give.

ChangeNetSA is a beacon of light in this time in history. This season has also brought economic hardships, which is where ChangNetSA is playing a huge role to help vulnerable people in all our communities.

An update on continuing and new activities:

· Meals on Wheels and the Poverty Police are still doing what they do so well – support the community on all levels of need in an holistic way. The very impactful “Potato Run” was a huge event in Bethlehem. It was also featured in the local Ystervark newspaper. Similar outreaches will be organised once a month in the future. Watch out for these on social media!

· Bethlehem Meals on Wheels was chosen by Woolworths to be one of 67 support organisations to receive a donation of R 5 000. This is to commemorate Mandela month in July.

· The Poverty Crusaders clothing- and household goods store is growing and is well supported. A new manager, Melanie, has been appointed. Maki, Santa and Suretha are assisting to keep the wheels oiled. The Warehouse is also now housing the thrift shop, having moved from its previous location. It is also online, look out for: Poverty Crusaders Thrift.

· To help people in the correct way, you can now purchase a R 200 voucher booklet, with separate R 20 vouchers, to hand to someone in need. You can give the whole booklet, or R 20 at a time. These vouchers are redeemable for clothing or food (not cash) at the Warehouse by needy persons. In this way, they can be assessed by the Poverty Police and supported to start a new life.

· The need in our communities is far greater than we can imagine, but the communities are also seeing that ChangeNetSA is here to help our people in need. Example: We were called by someone from Round Table - a lady was found, who had slept in the cricket nets of one of our schools for nights on end. She was given shelter, food and clothing in a Bakenpark facility. Please be encouraged to call us when you come across someone in desperate need...

· In Hobhouse, close to Ladybrand, Yvonne and Johan Askevold is continuing the process of establishing another ChangeNetSA branch with two clothing shops and a care facility.

· The Bethlehem Tutor Centre is filled to the brim and has acquired a second premises to accommodate the growing demand. Coenie Horak, who assisted with creating management systems at the Warehouse, will be returning to the tutor centre after the holidays.

· ChangeNetSA is now in collaboration with Wellbeing Synergies, so that people can be helped in a truly holistic way. The dream is to reach 32 towns in 18 months with this programme.

· ChangeNetSA is still having a a strong relationship with the government entity, Social Development. They refer needy people to the Warehouse for support.

· Justice has been appointed as chairperson of the Bethlehem Business Network. This is a huge opportunity to extend the message of ChangeNetSA further into our business community!

· Estivan Barnard, Bethlehem’s own social media expert, is using his extended knowledge to introduce ChangeNetSA to the community. Search and follow his Get to Know Channel on Facebook.

· Estivan is also instrumental in giving our contributing businesses lots of exposure on social media by the videos that he produces. The businesses also receive exposure on the Blog of the ChangeNetSA website. And, of course, the businesses become part of the Poverty Police, where a sticker on their doors helps to assist the poor and needy in the correct way. Lots of Value for R 200 per month, if you join our Advertising Platform!

** There are still opportunities for persons who are experienced with social media, to operate the ChangeNetSA systems. In this way, they can generate a commission-based income. This opportunity can also be taken up part-time.

If you would like to know more about how ChangeNetSA operates and how we change people’s lives, go to our website: www.changenetsa.co.za, especially the Blog. We also have a Facebook profile.

ChangeNetSA is growing beyond all expectations – the community is seeing that we have a heart for people and that working together binds us all together. As we seek God’s guidance, it becomes clear that He is clearing the way to more and more success in addressing the community’s problems. This is achieved by supporting them with food and clothing, as well as changing their lives on all levels. We thank each one who is part of making this dream come true!

With sincere greetings from your Caring Heart-family,

RETHA PRETORIUS - Media/Partner Liaison Officer
