Good day caring-heart family
We hope to find you well, in spite of the winter chills… We have also weathered some social media obstacles, where someone with a false profile attacked our integrity, but failed to derail our vision and our impact. We came out stronger on the other side.
So much has happened in the first half of 2023 – a few of the highlights are:
**Our Blue Bag clothing project is ongoing, and will gain more traction once the schools reopen after the holidays.
**Our 16 June family sports and market event was a resounding success, we thank everyone involved and those who supported us. Our next sports event will be a bowls tournament in September.
**Meals on Wheels Bethlehem is expanding to other towns in our region and to Qwa Qwa, with the number of people helped growing all the time.
**New Beginnings is now housing some mothers and children in distress, some elderly care is done and some more people who need assistance are housed there, to make it a “full house” at this stage! A few spectrum children are trained to prepare them to join the tutor centre. A team of therapists are involved in all of the special need sections. A separate unit, used as a classroom for the children that attend the programme in the mornings, have been donated by the Day Clinic. We and the community extend our heartfelt gratitude! The Grade 4 to Grade 12 section of the Tutor Centre, formerly in Panorama, has now also relocated to the beautiful premises of New Beginnings (the younger ones are still in Panorama). Looking forward to receiving the learners there!
**Move 500 is commencing again after the school holidays. This is the project that will make all the other projects financially possible. Please see our previous Bulletin for the exact details of this project, and how you can participate.
**ChangeNetSA has also initiated a drive to improve our town, firstly by helping our people, which is our Divine and heartfelt calling. Our town is, however, falling apart, and we are also going to address that in the typical ChangeNetSA fashion. Move Bethlehem is in the process of having open-to-all meetings with members of all walks of the community, to put together a plan to achieve our goal. We had our first meeting on 12 July, which paved the way for more involvement and good results going forward.
**We are still looking to move the Hartland animals to New Beginnings, but the need is for the infrastructure to house the animals – if you have cages or fencing in good condition that is unused, please consider assisting us to accommodate the animals.
The impact of ChangeNetSA in our community is spreading at an unstoppable pace. The participation of the community is so wonderful to experience. God is truly using the community to do His Kingdom work, of which caring for the needy, orphans and widows is a great part. We thank every person or entity for your willingness to join us in listening and responding to God’s calling.
