The councillor of Ward 18, Bethlehem, Ms Emely Mabizela, Mr Lefa Mashiloane from the Department of Social Development and some Môrelig residents gave up their public holiday on Tuesday 21 March to continue the clean-up of Knobel bridge in Môrelig.
It is most encouraging to see people from all levels of the community coming forward to do what they can to improve our environment. Thank you and well done!
Meals on Wheels handed food parcels to the community members who participated, as a way of saying thank you.
An organic process of restoration of our beautiful town has started in Bethlehem, and spontaneous initiatives like this one are becoming more prevalent. This is because people are not willing to accept the status quo any more. Some of the help is spontaneous, like this one. To be updated on future pre-organised initiatives, there is also a Whatsapp group, Move Bethlehem, that people can request to be added to. Send your name and your request to 061 534 2311.
