The last chapter.
I have been here and there,
actually everywhere!
Every corner I have seen,
of life's circle where I have been,
since nineteen.
Faceless in the whiterush water of the main stream,
breathless on the mountaintop, so pristine,
trees and pastures, a lush green,
the air, thin and clean.
Danger rive! Everywhere a killer ravine!
But I survived, through grace, not amphetamine...
My life's scars are so obsene!
No need to celebrate Halloween!
Crushed entirely by Mary Magdalene,
the damage, so bloody unforseen!
Then came along Josephine,
treacherous little figurine!
Deep inside a ravaging wolverine!
I was permanently on Dramamine,
while chaos reigned supreme!
Then I reached threescore,
plus only ten from death's door!
One very last chapter's chance to restore,
my torn inner core.
Thus, I set up a new decor,
for an onstage outpour,
of the closing scene's final answer for,
being a prisoner of my own war...
It's only the final chapter that really counts,
it's importance, tantamount!
Therefore, I shall love, forgive, laugh and cry all over again,
and celebrate life with the best champagne!
